Qualifications

• HS diploma preferred.
• Custodial experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Ensure safe and proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Monitor and restock supplies to maintain inventory levels.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events.
• Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.
• Follow health and safety regulations for hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with staff to meet cleaning needs and maintain a positive school environment.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodian at Elliott County Primary. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used and stored safely and effectively.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed to ensure adequate inventory levels.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
• Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks as scheduled, including window washing, carpet cleaning, and floor maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with school staff to address specific cleaning needs and maintain a positive school environment.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
