Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Virginia seeks an experienced physician to provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for adolescents through geriatrics, focusing on preventive care and chronic disease management.

You will work in an outpatient setting with EPIC, coordinate with care teams, and participate in quality initiatives, with a base salary of $265,000–$280,000 annually plus incentives.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Successful completion of an accredited United States residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Current, unrestricted Virginia medical license, or eligibility for Virginia licensure.
• Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Candidate must demonstrate commitment to clinical quality, service excellence, professionalism, and collaboration across the healthcare system.
• Bilingual skills may be considered an asset based on community and practice needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services for patients across the primary care/spectrum, including preventive care and chronic disease management.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage conditions using evidence-based standards.
• Perform history, physicals, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests as indicated.
• Prescribe medications and therapies per regulations.
• Coordinate care with specialists and care teams to support continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred).
• Participate in meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
