Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a dedicated physician to provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for adolescents to seniors. You will deliver preventive care, manage chronic conditions, and coordinate with specialists to ensure seamless patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include exam planning, tests interpretation, medication management, and counseling on prevention and healthy living. Strong teamwork and communication are essential; EPIC experience is preferred, with a Virginia license

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Successful completion of an accredited US residency program in Family/Internal Medicine.
• Current Virginia medical license or eligibility for Virginia licensure.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Demonstrates commitment to clinical quality, service excellence and collaboration across the system.
• Bilingual skills may be considered an asset based on community and practice needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient primary care for adolescent to geriatric patients, including preventive care and chronic disease management.
• Diagnose and manage conditions using evidence-based standards.
• Perform age-appropriate exams and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests as indicated.
• Prescribe medications per laws and policies.
• Counsel on prevention, nutrition, adherence, and lifestyle changes.
• Coordinate care with specialists and care teams to ensure continuity.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR (EPIC experience preferred).
• Participate in meetings and quality/safety initiatives; support access and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with leadership to promote efficient operations and a high-reliability environment.
• Supervise and collaborate with care team members as assigned; participate in call coverage.
• Support teaching activities for students/residents where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
