Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs physician position within the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PHVAHCS) focuses on primary care with opportunities for women’s health experience.

Role includes coordinating outpatient care, performing histories and exams, prescribing medications, and educating residents. EDRP support and incentives may apply; 50-55 days PTO and federal benefits are available.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with a full medical license in the U.S.
• Residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility
• Active, full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Board certification may be required for faculty in some cases

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for outpatients in PHVAHCS.
• Provide histories, exams, diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and order routine labs and imaging.
• Document patient encounters thoroughly and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Participate in education and supervision of residents and staff
