Job summary

Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center is seeking a Physician in Primary Care to provide integrated outpatient health services within a team-based, patient-centered approach. The position emphasizes collaboration with health care teams to address a broad range of personal health needs in a community setting.

The role requires a medical degree, full U.S. licensure, and residency training in an approved specialty, with English proficiency and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to Veterans

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship requirement (citizenship required or exceptions per VA policy)
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic/osteopathic medicine
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state/DC
• Residency training in an accredited core specialty leading to board eligibility
• Board certification may be required for faculty status
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Ability to pass a physical
• Work in a clinic setting; may require evenings/weekends
• Excellent patient care and team collaboration

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to a designated patient panel
• Perform thorough examinations, develop differential diagnoses, and design treatment plans
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
• Counsel patients on health, wellness, and preventive care
• Manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension) and coordinate with specialists
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in the EHR
• Ensure patient-centered, team-based care within a community-focused setting
• Work schedule 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
