Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Coastal Virginia is seeking a compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our outpatient team. You will provide longitudinal, patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary environment across Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Qualifications

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions across a diverse patient population.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized preventive and chronic care plans.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory studies and imaging.
• Prescribe medications and evidence-based treatments per guidelines.
• Coordinate transitions of care, including hospital follow-up and post-discharge management.

In this Role:

As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide comprehensive, longitudinal patient-centered care in an outpatient setting while collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary team.

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical examinations

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions across a diverse patient population

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans with an emphasis on preventive care, chronic disease management, and overall wellness

• Order, interpret and follow up on laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic tests

• Prescribe medications and evidence-based treatments consistent with current clinical guidelines

• Provide comprehensive are for adult and geriatric patients (with the opportunity to include pediatric patients based on training and interest)

• Coordinate transitions of care, including hospital follow-up and post-discharge management

• Collaborate with an extensive network of Bayview specialist through a seamless internal referral system

• ~ 20 patients/day

• Partner with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
