Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide primary care services within a physician office setting, including non-acute and chronic conditions, with on-call rotation as required.

The PA-C will document patient histories, develop treatment plans, order tests, coordinate with the care team, educate patients, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Current PA Physician Assistant License PA-C or board eligible.
• Substitutions Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ongoing successful recertification (NCCPA) as a PA-C within 90 days of hire.
• Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure within 60 days of hire
• CPR - American Heart Association
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Provides primary healthcare services for non-acute or chronic conditions within the Physician Assistant scope of practice.
• Records patient medical history and physical assessments, develops therapeutic care plans, orders labs and tests, interprets results, and documents medical records.
• Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team; involves supervising physician as needed.
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care and coordinates periodic evaluation by physicians.
• Prepares written prescription orders.
• Educates patients and families on health, illness prevention, and treatment.
• Manages triage of patient telephone calls and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
