Job summary

Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Northwest Expressway is hiring for a Full-time Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT‑Paramedic role in Oklahoma. The position involves patient prep, vitals, documentation in Epic, in-office testing, vaccines, and coordinating follow-ups.

The role requires High School Diploma or GED, BLS within 90 days, and CMA/RMA/CCMA certification or EMT/Paramedic accepted. We offer a day schedule Mon-Fri in a busy clinic with comprehensive Mercy benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have basic clinical workflow knowledge (vital signs, charting, patient intake).
• Familiar with Epic or similar EMR systems.
• Ability to work in a primary care clinic environment and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by recording chief complaints, vitals, and history.
• Assist with in-office testing (blood draws, EKGs, oxygen studies, POC tests).
• Administer vaccines and injections within scope of practice.
• Schedule follow-up appointments per policy.
• Collaborate with providers and care team to coordinate care plans.

Position Details:

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Northwest Expressway

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Accepting applications for MA, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic!

Overview:

• Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
• Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG’s, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
• Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
• Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
• Certified Medical Assistant:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

LPN Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Licensure: Active LPN license in the state of practice.
• Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a primary care office.
