Job summary

Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City is hiring for Medical Assistant, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic to join a full-time team. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, 40 hours per week, with responsibilities including preparing patients for visits, performing vital signs, and supporting providers in Epic documentation.

Qualifications

• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 6 months clinical healthcare experience preferred for MA/primary care.
• Active CMA/RMA/CCMA or EMT/Paramedic accepted for CMA/EMT track.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for visit by rooming, entering chief complaint, taking vital signs, reviewing history and allergies, reconciling medications, and documenting in Epic.
• Assists with in-office testing such as blood draws, mental status exams, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
• Administers vaccines and injections within scope of practice.
• Schedules follow-up appointments per office policy.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to coordinate the care plan.

Position Details:

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Northwest Expressway

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Overview:

• Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
• Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG’s, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
• Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
• Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
• Certified Medical Assistant:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

LPN Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Licensure: Active LPN license in the state of practice.
• Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a primary care office.
