Job summary

San Diego State University seeks a Program Director to lead the Pride Center and advance its mission supporting LGBTQIA+ students’ belonging, well-being, leadership, and academic success. Reporting to the Associate Chief Diversity Officer, this role provides leadership for programs, services, staff, budget, facilities, and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field; four-year degree plus relevant coursework in counseling/analysis.
• Professional experience in student services, advising, or related field; four years recommended.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Pride Center and supervise staff.
• Develop and assess programs to promote student belonging, well-being, and academic success.
• Oversee budget, purchasing, reporting, and compliance with university policies.
• Provide advocacy and mentorship to LGBTQIA+ students and respond to sensitive concerns.
• Build cross-campus and community partnerships to enhance student retention and achievement.
• Represent the Pride Center in outreach, committees, and campus events.
