Job summary

ShopRite in Hazlet, NJ is hiring a Scanning Clerk (Saker NJ). The role focuses on delivering a great customer experience, maintaining pricing integrity, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. You will communicate across departments and support store operations.

Essential duties include handling price changes, maintaining price accuracy, and adhering to QA standards while interacting with customers in a friendly manner.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., occasionally 50 lbs.
• Work in varying temperatures.
• Operate computer terminal and calculator.
• Work with products without negative allergic consequences.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Adhere to assigned schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete all weekly price changes transmitted to the store file, and check for discrepancies.
• Maintain accuracy of pricing to match circulars and ads.
• Maintain UPL program by sorting and placing tags correctly.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and pricing standards.
• Perform duties in accordance with QA and safety standards.
• Keep work area clean, organized and safe.
• Maintain pricing integrity on the sales floor with signed and scanned items.
• Dress and groom according to policy; wear required uniform and name badge.
• Report equipment problems promptly and maintain equipment as required.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with all departments.
• Complete applicable training programs.
• Adhere to ShopRite service priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, Efficiency.
