Job summary

ShopRite of North Brunswick is seeking a Scanning Clerk to deliver a great customer experience while maintaining pricing integrity storewide. You will ensure equipment and systems are properly maintained and communicate effectively with all departments.

Essential duties include handling weekly price changes, maintaining pricing accuracy, managing UPL tags, and adhering to safety and QA standards. Prioritizes friendly service and reliable attendance in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to operate a computer terminal keyboard and calculator.
• Ability to work with products without allergic issues.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly, helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned schedules and attendances.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete weekly price changes transmitted to store file and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain pricing file accuracy to match weekly circulars and ads.
• Maintain UPL tagging and program.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and government pricing standards.
• Perform duties per Local, State, and Federal regulations for Scanning operations.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Ensure items are properly signed, tagged, and scanned.
• Dress and groom according to policy (uniform, name badge, hair restraint).
• Follow QA hand washing standards and wear disposable gloves when handling food.
• Adhere to HAZCOM program and follow label instructions for chemical products.
• Regularly lift/push/pull merchandise and stand for long shifts.
• Check prices and know item locations in store.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Understand shrink guidelines for Scanning operations.
• Report equipment problems to required personnel.
• Perform weekly aisle scanning audits for price accuracy.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
