Pricing Clerk

Position Objective: To assist customers in their shopping experience by ensuring all store products are clearly marked with accurate prices and all price changes are made in a smooth, timely manner.

Reporting Structure: This position formally reports to the Pricing Manager.

Status: This is a non-exempt position.

Knowledge

The following are the certification, formal education, or training requirements for this position:

• Essential Knowledge: Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and 10-key is required.
  Completion of ongoing training as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• Non-Essential Knowledge: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Implementing Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Verifying merchandise prices against shelf tags for accuracy.
• Operating all pricing and scanning equipment properly.
• Ensuring signage is clear and properly placed according to standards.
• Proofreading store ads and signage for accuracy.
• Complying with regulations regarding food stamp & WIC purchases and weights & measures.
• Adhering to health, sanitation, and safety regulations, and maintaining equipment safely.
• Meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
• Demonstrating strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive interactions.
• Using basic math and reading skills required for the role.

Non-Essential Job Functions

• Reporting pricing issues to management and corporate.
• Assisting in store audits and achieving minimum scores.
• Knowing store products, procedures, and policies to answer questions accurately and courteously.
• Completing additional tasks as assigned to support the company and develop skills.

Physical Abilities

The physical movements required include:

• Reaching overhead, twisting, and lifting objects up to 10 lbs.
• Pushing and pulling items weighing up to 5 lbs.
• Standing and walking for extended periods on hard surfaces.
• Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs. to a height of 36 inches.
• Bending and squatting to floor level.
