Job summary

The Pricing Specialist at Landstar Agent collaborates with Sales and Operations to develop timely pricing and identify capacity for RFPs, projects, and spot market opportunities, while building relationships with Landstar-approved carriers.

You will gather market data, analyze pricing indicators, and support Operations to meet customer pricing requests, using pricing tools and current carrier information to optimize lane economics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
• 2–5 years of dispatch operations experience, including direct work with drivers, is preferred.
• Experience in truckload carrier development and/or carrier sales is required.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate rates and service levels with carriers.
• Maintain relationships with carriers for capacity and pricing feedback.
• Assist pricing and capacity identification for RFPs and spot opportunities.
• Manage pricing requests using historical, market, and carrier data.
• Provide Operations with contact information, pricing and service expectations for new carriers.
