Job summary

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Principal Data Scientist specializing in pricing algorithms to lead our pricing optimization efforts. You will guide model development, validation, and deployment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize profitability.

You will mentor a team of data scientists and apply advanced ML, forecasting, and optimization techniques to real-world pricing challenges at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in CS, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related field.
• 8+ years in data science, ML, and statistical analysis with pricing optimization focus.
• Proven ability to build and deploy pricing algorithms/models in real-world settings.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala for data analysis and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for pricing algorithms and models.
• Lead design, development, and deployment of pricing algorithms using ML techniques.
• Review code and mentor team to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover pricing insights and inform strategy.
• Oversee evaluation and optimization of pricing models and testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, finance, and marketing on data-driven pricing solutions.
• Stay current on pricing analytics trends and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Document methodologies and present recommendations clearly.
