Job summary

Sonstegard Food of Arkansas is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and facilities, ensuring safety and SQF compliance. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and collaborates with production and maintenance staff.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and document PM activities, with preferred 2-3 years mechanical experience and ability to operate skid loaders and pallet jacks. This is a 1st shift position.

Qualifications

• Basic reasoning and thinking skills.
• Able to operate skid loaders and pallet jacks.
• Communication and intrapersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills able to use preventative maintenance software.
• Follow and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and safety requirements, including PPE.
• Preferred 2-3 years mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures (i.e. bearings, Seals, pumps, etc.).
• Perform advanced preventative maintenance on machines and building as assigned daily.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• CIP Knowledge (pumps, valves, controller, etc.).
• Work with the Maintenance manager and Purchasing Supervisor to ensure repair parts are ordered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with unplanned machine breakdowns as needed.
• Maintain daily PM paperwork.
• Ensure safe use of equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
• Knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing and welding are beneficial.
• This is a 1st shift position
