Job summary

College of Charleston seeks a Preventative Maintenance Tech to perform routine preventive maintenance on light and commercial equipment in an institutional setting, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Work independently to troubleshoot and repair as needed, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus technical training in a maintenance trade and at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a technical training program in a maintenance trade equivalent.
• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training in building or equipment maintenance; equivalent education/experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on light and commercial mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform repairs as required.
• Maintain documentation using a work order system and generate Building Condition Assessment reports.
• Coordinate PM schedules with IWMS and BAS where applicable.
