Job summary

B5 Recruiting is partnering with a large property management organization in Charleston to hire several Maintenance Technicians for a contract-to-hire role. You will support turnover, perform preventive maintenance, and handle trades from plumbing to carpentry.

A valid driver’s license, own tools, and HVAC experience are preferred. The role involves on-call rotation and contributing to property upkeep and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 years of related maintenance experience.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Candidate should provide own set of tools.
• Certifications such as HVAC, CFC, or CPO are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apartments for new residents (turns & move-outs).
• Complete work orders efficiently and professionally.
• Maintain exterior areas and curb appeal.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
• Daily trash pickup and grounds upkeep.
• Maintain trash compactors and swimming pools (seasonal).
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, roofing and flooring.
• Check irrigation systems and keep accurate records of work and materials used.
• Participate in on-call maintenance rotation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

You’ll work closely with our property management team and gain hands-on experience in a variety of trades. This role will be a contract to hire opportunity.

What You’ll Do
