Job summary

College of Charleston is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, operate, maintain and repair HVAC systems across campus facilities, including dormitories, historic buildings and offices. The role requires an EPA certification, a high school diploma, and professional HVAC trade experience.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating with contractors. The position may involve overtime and travel across campus and occasionally emergency response during

Qualifications

High school diploma and professional HVAC trade experience are required.
Experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment in multiple settings.
EPA certification is required; valid SC driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots, repairs or recommends procedures for HVAC systems across campus facilities.
Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, motors, belts, and pumps.
Installs HVAC equipment and controls; maintains inventory for repairs.
Uses web-based HVAC control programs to monitor temperatures and adjust as needed.
Repairs and updates HVAC systems with basic blueprint knowledge.
Ensures safety practices and OSHA regulations are followed; coordinates with contractors.
