Job summary

Brentwood Industries, Inc. in Reading, PA, is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for the manufacturing site.

You will support break/fix maintenance activities where necessary and help minimize downtime by coordinating with internal teams and external vendors. Requirements include a one-year college/technical certificate or 3–6 months of related experience; ability to read and interpret manuals; and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and external vendors.
• Maintain spare parts inventory for critical components.
• Document activities and costs; follow Good Documentation Practices.
• Engage in 5S activities and ensure adherence to quality systems.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Ability to compute figures and apply basic algebra as needed.

Preventive Maintenance Mechanic

Preventative Maintenance Mechanic – Reading, PA

Hours:
6:30am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday

The Preventive Maintenance Mechanic will develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for the manufacturing site. This role will also support break/fix maintenance activities where necessary. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

• Establish, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs to be executed by internal and external resources.
• Establish and maintain a spare parts inventory of critical components, greases/lubricants, or other items to minimize downtime on key equipment.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to enable uninterrupted production.
• Coordinate with site maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with Procurement to execute recurring PM tasks for external vendors.
• Maintain proper documentation on all activities and costs.
• Engage in industrial hygiene and 5/6S activities.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices in alignment with Brentwood's Quality Management and Environmental Management systems.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Driver’s License preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
