Leadperson I – Reading, PA

The hours are 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Assists in the supervision and coordination of activities of production workers by performing the following duties. Employees may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and assists in setup and adjustments of machines.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers.
• Oversee work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Sets up machines and equipment.
• Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
• Carry out direction from supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Communicates with supervisors about any production, mechanical or personnel issues.
• Perform all work procedures in accordance with safety standards.
• Perform all work procedures according to established Quality Management & Environmental Management Systems.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: Tow motor certification required.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or employees of the organization. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Employees are required to lift/carry up to 35 lbs. and to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
• Work environment is subject to seasonal change from ambient conditions to hot/cold and/or wet/humid conditions.
