Job summary

Wellstone in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Prevention Specialist to lead community-based prevention efforts with children and parents. You will conduct group sessions, document outcomes, coordinate monthly hours, and participate in outreach and trainings to strengthen local youth and family services.

A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences is required, along with strong communication and collaboration skills to work with schools and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social sciences field is required.
• Proven experience conducting groups with at risk youth and parents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description: The Prevention Specialist is responsible for the compliance, accreditation, certification, performance improvement, and quality assurance initiatives of the organization. This position implements programs to prevent negative outcomes by working with communities, schools, and organizations by providing educational materials and advocating for policies that support prevention efforts.
