Job Description

The Prevention Specialist is an entry-level educator role focusing on substance use, violence prevention, life skills, and related topics. Responsibilities include planning and delivering workshops, maintaining records, ensuring safety, and collaborating with community members. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, familiarity with MS Office, and a valid driver's license are required.

Essential Functions

• Facilitate prevention programs across Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Implement daily programs, prepare lesson plans, and ensure safety.
• Communicate with parents and school staff.
• Ensure student safety and accountability.
• Learn about ATOD and violence prevention resources.
• Prepare reports and organize data.
• Participate in training and community events.
• Represent the program positively at various functions.
• Support coalition goals and activities.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 1-2 years related experience.
• Preferred: Certified Prevention Specialist or teaching certificate.
