Job summary

Dynamic Systems Technology, Inc. (DysTech) seeks a Prevention Coordinator to train Army National Guard personnel in substance abuse and suicide prevention, and to manage non-clinical cases.

You will deliver high-impact instruction, track risk inventories, and maintain military records under the supervision of the Risk Reduction Coordinator. Onsite in Colchester, VT with standard M-F hours, occasional in-state travel, and a focus on readiness and resiliency for Soldiers and their families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Public Health, or related field.
• 3+ years of practical experience in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Resiliency programs, or non-clinical case management.
• Strong public speaking, briefing, and adaptable presentations for diverse military audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience maintaining precise documentation in tracking systems/databases.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with willingness to travel in-state as required by program duties.
• Must be able to obtain favorable adjudication of NACI background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Training & Instruction: Coordinate and deliver Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, and Bystander training for ARNG units and leaders, meeting or exceeding Army regulatory standards.
• Risk Assessment Facilitation: Coordinate, facilitate, quality-check, and process Unit Risk Inventory assessments.
• Non-Clinical Case Management: Manage referred Soldier cases from initial referral through final disposition stats and coordinate follow-up.
• Database Management & Timely Reporting: Input all prevention training, case management records, and suicide reporting events into applicable databases.
• Stakeholder Communication & Councils: Build relationships with State POCs and community providers and participate in relevant councils.
• Program Support & Reporting: Maintain Resource Catalog and provide weekly/monthly reports to RRC.

Prevention Coordinator (PC) – Vermont Army National Guard

About the Program

Dynamic Systems Technology, Inc. (DysTech) is seeking a qualified Prevention Coordinator (PC) to serve as a Substance Abuse Prevention and Suicide Prevention Trainer and Case Manager supporting the Vermont Army National Guard. The program provides critical risk mitigation, substance abuse prevention education, suicide prevention training, and resiliency operations that help Soldiers navigate military life, strengthen readiness, and access vital community resources.

The Vermont team directly supports multiple key functional areas, including:

• Substance Abuse Prevention (SAP) Program & Training
• Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) & Bystander Training
• Unit Risk Inventory (URI) Coordination & Risk Mitigation Planning
• Non-Clinical Case Management

About the Role

As the Prevention Coordinator, you will serve as a key trainer and non-clinical case manager working directly under the supervision of the Risk Reduction Coordinator (RRC). In this capacity, you will assist in executing core program goals, delivering high-impact prevention training, administering risk inventories, tracking cases, and maintaining accurate military database records.

This is a hands-on technical and operational position that combines public speaking and instruction with non-clinical case management, administrative coordination, and community outreach. You will work closely with Unit Commanders, State Points of Contact, and community providers to ensure timely case tracking, risk mitigation support, and responsive care for National Guard members.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Training & Instruction: Coordinate and deliver Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, and Bystander training for ARNG units and leaders, meeting or exceeding Army regulatory standards. Assist the RRC with training logistics and briefings as needed.
• Risk Assessment Facilitation: Coordinate, facilitate, quality-check, and process Unit Risk Inventory assessments. Contact Unit Commanders to report outcomes and assist in executing recommended Risk Mitigation Plan training.
• Non-Clinical Case Management: Manage referred Soldier cases from initial referral through final disposition stats. Coordinate with Unit Commanders, schedule assessments and follow-on treatment, track progress, conduct weekly check-ins with Soldiers, retrieve paperwork, and document all communications.
• Database Management & Timely Reporting: Input all prevention training, case management records, and suicide reporting events into applicable databases, ensuring all required documentation, incident updates, and reports are actioned strictly within specified timelines.
• Stakeholder Communication & Councils: Build and maintain positive working relationships with State POCs and community-based service providers. Serve as an active member of the Commander’s Readiness and Resiliency Council and the Adjutant General’s Alcohol and Drug Intervention Council.
• Program Support & Reporting: Keep the State Resource Catalog current. Provide required weekly and monthly operational reports to the RRC, assist the RRC with Monthly Status reports, and attend Interim Progress Reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Behavioral Science, Public Health, Human Services, or a related social science field.
• Domain & Case Management Experience: 3+ years of practical experience in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Resiliency programs, or non-clinical case management.
• Public Speaking & Instruction: Strong professional instruction, briefing, and public speaking skills with the ability to adapt presentations for diverse military audiences.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience maintaining precise documentation in tracking systems/databases.
• Licensing & Mobility: Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with willingness to travel in-state as required by program duties.
• Clearance & Access: Must be able to obtain favorable adjudication of NACI background investigation, initiated upon date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with military populations or familiarity with Army National Guard structure and protocols.
• Direct experience conducting training on substance abuse, suicide prevention, or resiliency.
• Experience using military databases (e.g., DAMIS, CIMS) and managing non-clinical case records.

Work Location and Schedule

• Location: Onsite assignment within the Vermont Army National Guard in Colchester, VT
• Schedule: Primary operating hours are Monday through Friday, 07:30am-4:00pm
• Weekends: Must maintain flexibility to support variable unit schedules, including drill weekend support (typically one weekend per month on average).
• Travel: In-state travel is required, typically 1-3 occurrences per month

Compensation:

• $25.00-$27.00 hourly rate
