Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Team Leader to direct maintenance operations, coordinate repairs and upgrades, and drive safety initiatives. You will lead the PM team day-to-day, prioritize work, and align activities to support equipment reliability and business goals.

The role requires reading blueprints, strong leadership, and hands-on maintenance experience in a production setting. You will work on the shop floor with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and improve machine

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Dependable with a good work history and taking responsibility.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; good leadership qualities.
  • Training provided by qualified trainer; capable of physical mobility (up to 75 lbs).
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction and color differentiation to detect defects.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Preventative Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for directing preventative maintenance operations, coordinating machine repairs and upgrades, and leading departmental safety efforts. This position provides day-to-day leadership to the PM team, ensuring work is prioritized, communicated effectively, and completed to support equipment reliability and business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the repair of molding machines and automated equipment.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, retrofits, and all tasks requiring extended downtime.
  • Serve as a Front-Line Leader for the MM Department.
  • Keep up to date regarding priority changes, work with production when machines are not scheduled to maximize machine uptime.
  • Insure appropriate levels of spare parts, planning for repair of machines, equipment upgrades, etc.
  • Follow up with P.M. team members to ensure tasks are being completed efficiently and to standard.
  • Communicate information to departmental personnel as needed.
  • Monitor and close out work orders for JDE PM and Asset Essentials.
  • Assist departmental leadership to seek out and receive appropriate training.
  • Motive personnel to find ways to improve equipment efficiency.
  • Assume control of equipment when a situation arises that has the potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of a machine.
  • Lead the safety efforts for the department.
  • General knowledge of other production departments.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the leadership.
Qualifications

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings. Dependable and motivated with a good work history. Accepts responsibility for work performed. Have good organizational and communication skills. Good leadership skills. Training in this position requires a thorough understanding of the above responsibilities. A qualified trainer will do the training. Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting/ moving (up to 75 pounds). Must be able to work from elevated platforms and ladder lifts. Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and be able to differentiate color, to detect defects. Must be able to work around grease, oil, and solvents without adverse reaction. Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sound and alarms.
