Job summary

Sabert is a leading global manufacturer of innovative food packaging products seeking a Maintenance Technician in Greenville, TX. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, utilities support, and fabrication to ensure continuous production and reliability of equipment.

Responsibilities include executing scheduled maintenance, inspections, and documentation; performing basic welding, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment modifications; and supporting TPM/Kaizen initiatives while upholding

Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant support systems.
  • Perform inspections, lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, alignment checks, and parts replacement.
  • Identify abnormal equipment conditions and initiate corrective actions.
  • Document maintenance findings, repairs and recommendations.
  • Replace, rebuild, and install mechanical components (bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, valves, etc.).
  • Support root cause analysis and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain plant utility systems (air, water, ventilation, pumps, etc.).
  • Perform basic welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment modifications.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting on sensors, motors, switches, relays, and controls.
  • Follow safety, GMP, LOTO, and environmental policies; keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Participate in TPM and Kaizen activities; promote safe work practices.
  • Operate machines as needed during breaks; record KPI metrics if required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:
1. Preventive Maintenance Execution
  • Execute scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and plant support systems.
  • Perform inspections, lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, alignment checks, condition monitoring, and component replacement.
  • Identify abnormal equipment conditions and initiate corrective actions before failures occur.
  • Accurately document maintenance findings, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Replace, rebuild, and install mechanical components such as bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, valves, cylinders, and drive systems.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
3. Utilities & Facility Support Systems
  • Maintain and repair plant utility systems including compressed air systems, pumping systems, ventilation equipment, water distribution systems, tanks, filters, and other infrastructure supporting production operations.
4. Fabrication & Technical Support
  • Perform basic welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment modifications to support maintenance repairs and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, commissioning, and upgrade of equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Perform basic industrial electrical troubleshooting including sensors, motors, switches, relays, and control devices.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, GMP requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standards, and environmental policies.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Participate in TPM, reliability initiatives, Kaizen activities, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Promote safe work practices and proactively identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • Effectively perform machine operator duties on any machine, filling in as needed and during breaks.
  • May be asked to record KPI (Key Performance Indicators) metrics.
  • Other Duties as required
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Prior work experience in maintenance or related field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have good attendance, be a team player, and be able to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIROMENTAL EXPECTATIONS:
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, harness, beard cover and steel-toed shoes are required.
  • In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
