Sarasota County Government is seeking a Pretrial Services Caseworker II to perform pretrial investigations, case management and counseling referrals in the Intake Unit. The role supports a 24/7 operation with weekend and holiday work on the day shift.

Responsibilities include interviewing defendants, preparing local and national histories, conducting mental health assessments, and updating the case management system. A Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in specified fields required.
• Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the required degree.
• Pretrial Services experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Interview defendants and collect demographics; verify information and conduct victim interviews.
• Prepare local and national criminal histories.
• Conduct mental health and substance abuse assessments.
• Update and maintain daily records; operate the case management system.
• Instruct clients on pretrial release conditions and program restrictions.
• Write reports for court hearings and participate in hearings as needed.
