Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a field-proven supervisor to manage support staff, coordinate with treatment providers, and ensure quality service delivery in a high-demand environment. The role includes planning, staffing, and directing activities, developing training, and maintaining equitable caseload balance for defendants.

The position requires thorough knowledge of correctional casework principles, compliance with regulations, and the ability to conduct hearings and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Law, Corrections, Counseling, Law, Business Management, Public Administration, Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, Education, or in a job-related field of study.
• Three (3) years of professional work-related experience.
• Knowledge of principles and techniques of correctional casework, management; experience in the specialized area preferred.
• Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations and standards.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Extensive background investigation required.
• Mandatory drug testing and random/unannounced tests during employment.
• Subject to shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee support staff and supervise activities to ensure quality service delivery.
• Plan, organize, staff, lead, and control activities; ensure health, safety, and equipment needs for staff and defendants.
• Onboard and develop training courses for professional staff development.
• Assist with case assignments, equitable caseload balance, and scheduling.
• Conduct administrative hearings and ensure rehabilitative service standards.
• Assist with strategic plans, policies and procedures to reach goals.
• Participate in meetings, task forces, and committees for planning and problem solving.
• Develop and interpret data systems to ensure efficiency of resources.
• Serve as back-up, handle intake assessments, and supervision of pretrial defendants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
