Job summary

Williamson County is seeking a Pretrial Services Officer who reports to the Pretrial Manager. You will interview arrestees, evaluate indigence for court-appointed counsel, prepare bail reports, and determine indigent status.

The role supports Defendant Screening and Post Release Supervision units with cross-training for coverage seven days a week. You will monitor compliance after release, coordinate drug testing, and maintain accurate case records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or directly related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Interview arrestees and determine indigence for eligibility for court appointed counsel
• Provide bail reports to judicial officers and discuss conditions of release
• Determine indigent status for court appointed attorneys
• Provide post-release supervision and monitor defendant compliance
• Cross-train between Defendant Screening and Post Release Supervision units for coverage 7 days a week
• Maintain accurate case records and document findings for court proceedings
