Job summary

Valmont Industries in Florida seeks a Design Engineer to lead the engineering, design, and drafting of prestressed concrete poles. You will oversee structural analysis and ensure products meet specifications, while supporting sales, operations, and manufacturing through cross-functional collaboration.

The role emphasizes improving existing assemblies, staying current with manufacturing capabilities, and providing technical direction for design reviews. Domestic travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).
• Working knowledge of 3D Computer-Aided Design Software.
• Travel up to 10% of the time. May include international travel.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Group Engineering Manager with no direct reports.
• Analyze and design products by Finite Element Method considering safety and cost.
• Interpret customer specifications and needs; align with sales and operations.
• Understand fabrication processes and QA requirements at Valmont.
• Communicate engineering data, provide cost implications for quotations, and review drawings.
• Recommend design criteria updates and new drafting methods; coordinate testing.
