Job summary

A local manufacturing company in Ohio is seeking a skilled Pressure Vessel Welder. This role offers a 4-day workweek with varied responsibilities, including fitting, fabricating, and welding using TIG methods on different materials. Qualifications

  • Skilled in material finishing techniques like grinding and sanding.

Responsibilities

  • Fit, fabricate, cut, and weld various materials including stainless steel and carbon steel.
  • Work on components such as small tubes and large heat exchangers.
  • Support assembly of custom weldments and assist in internal equipment fabrication.

Job description

PRESSURE VESSEL WELDER!

4 DAY WORKWEEK - 4 10'S.- MON-THUR.

Fitting, fabricating, cutting, silver brazing, welding (TIG, MIG (STT/PULSE), SMAW).

Typical applications will be on pipe/tubing ranging in size from 1/4" to 6" in diameter and .025" to .500" in thickness.

The materials will include stainless steel, carbon steel and copper.

Work on a variety of components from small tubes to large heat exchangers.

Work with layouts, project plans, blueprints, work orders, engineers, and project leaders.

Responsible for layout and fixture building to support the assembly of custom weldments.

Assist in fabricating custom equipment, as needed, for internal use.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with pressure vessel welding or ASME 6G carbon steel pipe certification.
  • TIG experience is critical.
  • Read standard blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Experience with inspection using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and height gages.
  • Perform material finishing such as grinding, sanding, and beveling.
  • Pass a weld test.
