Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Alabama is seeking a Pressure Vessel and Mechanical Integrity Engineer to lead the site's pressure vessel and tank integrity program and the safety relief valve program. You will ensure compliance with ASME, API, OSHA PSM and corporate standards while driving continuous improvement in asset integrity, risk mitigation, and documentation.

You will coordinate inspections and maintain records; collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and EHS teams; and act as SME for pressure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of ASME BPVC, API inspection standards, OSHA PSM, and mechanical integrity principles.
• Experience managing inspection programs and regulatory compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's Pressure Vessel and Tank Integrity Program.
• Oversee Safety Relief Valve Integrity Program including inspections and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, OSHA PSM, and internal standards.
• Coordinate inspections of vessels, tanks, piping and relief devices.
• Develop inspection schedules and risk-based inspection plans.
• Maintain accurate asset records and regulatory documentation.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance and EHS teams to mitigate risks.
• Drive continuous improvement in reliability and regulatory compliance.
