Job summary

Inovar Packaging Group seeks an experienced press operator for its Mark Andy P4 line in Willoughby, OH. You will run a state‑of‑the‑art narrow‑web flexographic press to deliver premium labels and packaging with precise registration and color control.

Day‑to‑day duties include setup, color/registration checks, ink and substrate selection, and on‑the‑fly troubleshooting. Safety, GMP compliance, and Lean improvements are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years running narrow‑web flexographic presses.
• Hands‑on mastery of plate mounting, anilox selection, ink systems, UV curing, color matching, registration, die cutting, and lamination.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot print and mechanical issues.
• Mechanical aptitude and sharp reading of job orders/specs with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Mark Andy Performance Series P4 to produce premium labels and packaging.
• Own full press setup: make‑ready, plate mounting, anilox and ink selection, die setup, substrate alignment, and changeovers.
• Maintain strict color, registration, and quality; document results.
• Troubleshoot misregistration, color variation, ink coverage, and dot gain quickly.
• Maximize uptime with smart adjustments and preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with Scheduling, Prepress, Quality, Finishing, and Maintenance to meet deadlines.
• Follow GMP, safety and company procedures; support Lean initiatives.

What’s on the table

• Operate a Mark Andy Performance Series P4 to produce premium pressure‑sensitive labels and packaging.
• Own full press setup: make‑ready, plate mounting, anilox and ink selection, die setup, substrate alignment, and job changeovers.
• Hold tight color, registration, and quality—document everything.
• Fix issues fast: misregistration, color variation, ink coverage, dot gain, die‑cut, and web handling.
• Keep uptime high: smart adjustments, preventive maintenance, and clean work habits.
• Coordinate with Scheduling, Prepress, Quality, Finishing, and Maintenance to hit deadlines.
• Follow safety, quality, GMP, and company procedures—no exceptions.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Shifts

• 2nd: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
• 3rd: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM

You’ll excel here if you have Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years running narrow‑web flexographic presses.
• Hands‑on mastery of plate mounting, anilox selection, ink systems, UV curing, color matching, registration, die cutting, and lamination.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot print and mechanical issues.
• Mechanical aptitude, sharp reading of job orders/specs, and superb attention to detail.

Preferred

• Experience with Mark Andy Performance Series (P4/P5/P7/P9).
• Background printing pressure‑sensitive labels.
• UV flexo and color management experience.
• Lean or Six Sigma exposure.

Physical realities

• Extended standing; frequent bending, twisting, pushing, and reaching.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable color discrimination.
• Comfort working around moving machinery while using required PPE.

Day‑one to day‑ninety wins

• Run the Mark Andy P4 safely with minimal oversight.
• Hit production rates, quality standards, and waste targets.
• Demonstrate fast, precise setup/changeovers and strong registration/color control.
• Build tight collaboration with Production, Quality, Prepress, and Maintenance.
• Submit impactful ideas to trim waste and boost efficiency.
