Job summary

Covestro AG is seeking a Pressure Safety Engineer III in the Baytown, TX area to analyze, design, and optimize process safety and emergency relief systems. The role supports PHA/HAZOP activities, MOC processes, and HSE initiatives within the NAFTA region.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry codes and safety standards, including ASME, API, NFPA, and OSHA, while coordinating with BU operations and site structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or similar engineering with 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs and evaluates emergency relief systems such as pressure safety valves and rupture disks and venting systems for new and existing plans in the NAFTA region.
• Supports documentation of site and regional pressure safety policies, standards, procedures, training, and execution.
• Participates in Management of Change (MOC) and delivers solutions to pressure safety related concerns from unit interactions.
• Supports day-to-day BU operations affected by emergency relief systems.
• Assists in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Turnaround (TAR) activities.
• Participates in HSE service initiatives and represents the HSE organization within the site.
