Job summary

Veritiv in Illinois is seeking a Press Feeder to support the press team and ensure production is safe, efficient, and on time. You will read job tickets, make-ready and operate the press per written instructions, and verify stock and ink specs to meet customer requirements.

In this role you will coordinate with team members, maintain color accuracy, and follow press SOPs while performing routine maintenance and ensuring samples are properly labeled.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years experience as a Press Feeder.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a crew/team.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the plant manager to ensure trained press team in a safe, productive manner.
  • Make-ready and operate press according to written instructions.
  • Ensure each job is produced to customer specs and deadlines.
  • Verify stock and inks match job specs on ticket.
  • Ensure all crew members understand job details for their areas of responsibility.
  • Read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications.
  • Perform press make ready, folder set ups, maintain press register and color.
  • Perform quality pull sheet procedures according to press SOPs.
  • Ensure samples are pulled and labeled according to press SOP.
  • Follow safety policies and report hazards immediately.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the press with the team as required.
  • Coordinate work schedules in the department with other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Make-ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided.
  • Ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Verify that stock and inks match job specs on ticket.
  • Ensure all crew members understand job details for their areas of responsibility.
  • Read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications.

Education
