Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, Michigan is seeking a Press Technician for an off-shift role (2nd/3rd/weekend).

The position will be located at the new core plant and focuses on troubleshooting forming issues, ensuring die conformity, and supporting continuous improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing cell. You will work with PLC controlled presses, review dies before setup, and assist in training new set-up techs and press operators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years work experience; or six months continuous manufacturing experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Enter data into computer if applicable.

• Good understanding of forming ceramics.
• Review dies to verify conformity/functionality prior to setup.
• Notify supervisor or injection specialist of any die problems that may affect schedule.
• Troubleshoot forming issues.
• Assist in training and development of new set up techs and press operators.
• Review and update coating inspection records.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Injection molding or forming experience
• Manufacturing experience
• Previous experience in electronics, vacuum furnaces, and manufacturing process troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel a plus
