Job summary

West Fraser, a diversified North American wood products company, is seeking a Press Support Technician to help maintain safety and efficiency in the Press Area. You will respond to production issues, assist the Control Room operator, and help with housekeeping and tool upkeep.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, teamwork and reliable attendance, and offers benefits from Day 1, including health, retirement, life and disability insurance, plus a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Reliable with consistent and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to production issues in the Press Area and assist the Control Room operator when needed.
• Use mobile equipment for waste material disposal.
• Identify problems in the Press Area and fix them accordingly.
• Assist in down day housekeeping responsibilities such as ice blasting of the press and press pit cleanup.
• Train in operational roles, understanding new processes and ideas, and be able to prove developmental progression.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by leadership team.
• Work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
