Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Press Set Operator based near Hobart, Indiana. The role involves running presses, performing die/tooling changeovers, and helping ensure parts meet drawing specifications.

You will read production work orders, set up dies, verify guards, and document production, downtime, and QA data. A high school diploma and about 1 year of press experience are required; forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of press operation experience or trained.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate presses within engineered Takt Times.
• Read and execute production work orders.
• Fill out complete documentation for production, down time, and Q.A. reports.
• Able to read and interpret shop prints for fab orders.
• Perform set-ups/dies and tooling changes for their press.
• Check to make sure all machine guards are operative and in place.
• Check raw material to ensure proper size, gauge, length, and finish.
• Load and unload parts on machine when necessary.
• Monitor quality and dimensional specs of fab parts.
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50lbs.
• Standing and walking up to 12 hours per day.
• Drive forklift when necessary.
• Communicate safety, production, or any other problems to the shift supervisor.
