Job Summary

Performs fabricating operations on sheet metal components, including disassembly, repair, deburr, grind, sandblast, and reassembly.

1. Works from and interprets fairly complicated sketches, routings, and product specifications.
2. Sets up and operates fabricating machines, including shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, expanders, sandblasters, and hand grinders to cut, bend, form, or straighten materials.
3. Completes final deburring operations on finished assemblies.
4. Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to sketches.
5. Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.
6. Repairs and maintains sheet metal products.
7. Cuts apart assemblies for repair and fits for re-assembly.
8. Maintains tolerances and finish specifications.
9. Checks for work dimensional acceptance, using a variety of measuring instruments such as verniers, micrometers, and Pi tapes.
10. Maintains SPC charts.
11. In coordination with Maintenance Department, performs preventive maintenance on sheet metal equipment.
12. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instructions requirements that govern sheet metal operations.
13. Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.
14. Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
15. Accurately completes all required documentation.
16. Meets attendance policy requirements.
17. Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

Education And Experience

High school diploma or GED, with minimum two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read English and interpret sketches, routings, product specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective communication with employees and stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Deal with problems involving several variables. Use judgment to plan, perform work, and make decisions within standard methods and procedures.
