Job summary

Lee Enterprises is hiring a full-time press operator/trainee for the Twin Falls Times-News. You will learn and perform offset printing with a Goss Urbanite press, including maintenance and setting ink densities. Trainees shadow journey-level operators and work on a team to meet deadlines.

The job requires 18+ years old, ability to lift 50 lbs, color vision, and mechanical aptitude, with night shifts possible. Prior press or manufacturing experience is preferred, with training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Fill ink fountains and set folders.
  • Plate making and maintaining a clean, safe press area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Press Operator or Trainee

The Twin Falls Times-News is hiring a full-time press operator to join our team. This position will learn and/or perform all aspects of offset printing with a Goss Urbanite press and performing maintenance. Trainees will learn by shadowing journey level press operators.

This position works in the team to produce print products according to customer specifications and within deadlines. Duties include loading newsprint, making pasters, monitoring reel stands, setting ink densities, registration, filling ink fountains, setting folders, plate making, maintaining a safe and clean press area and other duties as assigned.

The hours for this full-time position are M-F, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

The successful candidate will be 18 years of age or older, able to lift up to 50 lbs., be able to distinguish colors, possess mechanical aptitude and have the ability to work night shifts as needed. The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure is required. Previous printing press experience and/or manufacturing experience is preferred. We will train those who show aptitude.
