Job summary

SIMONA Boltaron in Newcomerstown, OH is seeking a Press Operator for the Midnight shift to set up equipment and verify product quality through precise checks and procedural standards.

You will program, load, and operate the press, inspect laminates and finished goods, handle related documents, and uphold safety and 5S practices in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment and operate the press per work orders and procedures.
  • Program, loads, and operates the press using standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and measuring devices.
  • Inspect laminates and finished products to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Process associated documents, including work orders, process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents.
  • Perform press maintenance as needed.
  • Follow safety measures and guidelines and maintain 5S in the department.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Summary/Objective

This position ensures the proper set up of equipment and verifies quality of products through thorough assessment and analyses using specific procedural standards.

Essential Functions

  • Performs buildup of material in accordance with work order instructions.
  • Programs, loads, and operates the press using standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and measuring devices.
  • Performs inspections of laminates and finished products to determine conformance with specifications.
  • Processes associated documents, including work orders, process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents.
  • Preforms press maintenance.
  • Follows safety measures and guidelines.
  • Maintains 5S activities in the department.
  • Works under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

This job operates in manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee must stand 8-12 hours per day and is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 hours. Additional hours may be required according to production demands.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.
