Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Six months of manufacturing‑related experience and/or training.

  • Time-management and self-management skills; able to work independently and in a team.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • ERP systems and basic applications (Word, Outlook).

Job description

As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating a progressive automatic stamping press and related coil processing equipment to produce required products according to production standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the automatic stamping press and related equipment to meet production goals (75% of time).
  • Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per written procedures.
  • Nest parts, package them, and palletize cartons.
  • Observe continuous operation of the press to ensure products meet specifications and detect defects or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Assist others with press set‑ups and changeovers.
  • Operate a forklift to move raw material and finished goods as needed.
  • Read through work orders to determine specifications, materials, dimensions, and tolerances (15% of time).
  • Maintain stamping press area clean and organized, ensuring tools and supplies are returned to their home locations (10% of time).
Desired Skills & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Simpson Strong‑Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification (will be obtained at hire).
  • Six months of manufacturing‑related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Basic manufacturing process knowledge, including raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safe work environment.
  • Customer service skills and effective communication skills (verbal, listening, and written).
  • Ability to read production drawings and interpret work orders.
  • Time‑management and self‑management skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Computer proficiency: use of ERP systems and basic applications such as Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are operating properly and to conduct accurate quality inspections.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear, and may occasionally sit. The role involves operating large equipment while standing for approximately 8–12 hours and regularly twisting, bending in repetitive motion. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials and objects up to 50 pounds (and heavier with proper equipment) is required. The environment may include exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

Work Status & Location

Full‑time, non‑exempt Union position located in Stockton, CA. Shift: Monday to Friday 3:30pm to 12:00am with a $1.50 shift differential.

Pay

$18.00 / hour.
