Job summary

nVent in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking experienced press operatives to set up and run progressive die stamping operations. You will work from detailed drawings and schedules, adjust equipment, inspect finished parts, and uphold safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in manufacturing with progressive die stamping, strong problem-solving skills, and reliable teamwork to meet production targets.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years Manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive die stamping press operation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates heavy-duty power press to bend, form, stretch and straighten products per blueprints, layouts and templates.
  • Plans sequence of operations using knowledge of materials.
  • Operates multiple automatic/multi-slide presses for stamping products.
  • Works from drawings, route sheets, schedules, and written/verbal instructions.
  • Checks material size/type, loads coils, adjusts uncoiler and rollers.
  • Assists with set-up of dies, forming blocks, and adjusting stroke/feed as needed.
  • Uses micrometers/calipers/gauges to inspect work in process and ensure specs.
  • Moves materials using lift truck or crane as required.
  • Installs and checks safety devices for jobs.
  • Reports faulty equipment or material to supervisor.

Join Us in Cleveland! This exciting opportunity is located in Cleveland, Ohio. We are looking for candidates who are either already local or open to relocating to join our team. Relocation Assistance will be offered!

Responsibilities
  • Sets up and operates heavy‑duty power press to bend, form, stretch and straighten a variety of products such as plates, extrusions, structural shapes, etc as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.
  • Plans sequence of operations applying knowledge of materials.
  • Performs duties required to assist set‑up and operate multiple automatic and/or multi‑slide presses simultaneously for a variety of stamping products.
  • Work from drawings, route sheets, schedules, written, and verbal instructions.
  • Check material for correct size and type, load coils, adjust uncoiler and material rollers.
  • Assist with set‑up of complicated progressive dies, movable and stationary forming blocks, adjust stroke and feed as needed.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, scales, and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Move materials in the performance of duties using lift truck or crane as necessary.
  • Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.
  • Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.
Academic & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years Manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive die stamping press operation experience.

Compensation

Up to $40.00/hr
