Job summary

nVent in Solon, OH is seeking an Assembly Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble a wide range of electrical fastening products and components using hands, machinery, and tools, following detailed work instructions and blueprints.

Regular quality checks ensure parts meet nVent standards. You will participate in safe, organized work practices, maintain equipment, and support continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge in use of scales preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred.
• Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints preferred.
• Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product preferred.
• Experience in using hand and power tools preferred.
• Prior experience working in a light industrial facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package products per Work Instructions.
• Complete work according to specifications, drawings, and routings.
• Select and move production materials as required.
• Maintain equipment and materials for the operation.
• Meet safety, quality, and performance standards to meet production schedules.
• Record information on Manufacturing Orders and manage inventory records.

As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling a wide range of electrical fastening products and components including but not limited to your hands, machinery, or various hand tools. Parts will be assembled in accordance with work instructions and blueprints/drawings. It will be your responsibility to complete regular, scheduled quality checks to ensure parts are being assembled up to nVent’s standards.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
• Completes work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
• Selects and moves production materials as required.
• Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
• Meets established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
• Records accurate information on Manufacturing Order and performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
• Complies with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards.
• Reports adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance to escalation procedure.
• Adheres to department 5S standards daily.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
• Demonstrates flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed.
• Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
