Job summary

nVent in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking an experienced stamping press operator to set up and operate heavy-duty presses for a variety of stamping products. You will work from blueprints, perform setups, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of progressive die stamping press experience and a High School diploma or equivalent, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years of progressive die stamping press operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates heavy-duty power press to bend, form, stretch and straighten products per blueprints and templates.
• Plans sequence of operations applying knowledge of materials.
• Performs duties to assist set-up and operate multiple automatic/multi-slide presses for stamping products.
• Work from drawings, route sheets, schedules, written and verbal instructions.
• Check material for correct size and type, load coils, adjust uncoiler and material rollers.
• Assist with set-up of complicated progressive dies and forming blocks; adjust stroke and feed.
• Use micrometers, calipers, scales, and gauges to check work in process and adherence to specs.
• Move materials using lift truck or crane as necessary.
• Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.
• Report faulty equipment or material and unusual conditions to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates heavy‑duty power press to bend, form, stretch and straighten a variety of products such as plates, extrusions, structural shapes, etc as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.
• Plans sequence of operations applying knowledge of materials.
• Performs duties required to assist set‑up and operate multiple automatic and/or multi‑slide presses simultaneously for a variety of stamping products.
• Work from drawings, route sheets, schedules, written, and verbal instructions.
• Check material for correct size and type, load coils, adjust uncoiler and material rollers.
• Assist with set‑up of complicated progressive dies, movable and stationary forming blocks, adjust stroke and feed as needed.
• Use micrometers, calipers, scales, and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Move materials in the performance of duties using lift truck or crane as necessary.
• Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.
• Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.

Academic & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years Manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years of progressive die stamping press operation experience.
