Job summary

Premium Label & Packaging Solutions is seeking a Lombardi Press Operator to set up and run flexographic presses, ensuring color accuracy and minimal waste. You will review job tickets, install plates, ink, and tooling, and maintain tight registration across production runs.

The role involves adjusting press parameters, performing make-ready, and inspecting finished goods for defects. You will also operate inline equipment like die-cutting and foil and document production and quality data daily.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Lombardi flexographic presses preferred.
  • Understanding of color control and registration.
  • Ability to use measuring and quality-control equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Lombardi flexographic printing presses.
  • Review job tickets, artwork, and specifications before starting.
  • Install printing plates, anilox rolls, doctor blades, inks, substrates, and tooling.
  • Set web tension, registration, impression, ink density, and other press parameters.
  • Perform press make-ready and minimize setup time and waste.
  • Maintain color and registration throughout runs.
  • Inspect finished product for defects.
  • Make press adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Perform roll changes and material handling.
  • Operate inline equipment (die-cutting, foil, lamination, coating, UV curing) when applicable.
  • Complete production, quality, material usage, and waste docs.
  • Troubleshoot issues and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Clean press components and maintain a tidy work area.
  • Follow safety, quality standards, and production schedules.

Based in the Northeast, PLPS operates six manufacturing locations and 41 presses across flexographic, digital, and specialty platforms. The company serves diverse markets including Healthcare, Wellness, Beauty & Personal Care, Household, Food & Beverage, and Aerospace.

The Lombardi Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining Lombardi flexographic printing equipment to produce high-quality printed products according to customer specifications and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate Lombardi flexographic printing presses.
  • Review job tickets, artwork, specifications, and production requirements before starting each job.
  • Install printing plates, anilox rolls, doctor blades, inks, substrates, and tooling as required.
  • Set web tension, registration, impression, ink density, and other press parameters.
  • Perform press make-ready and minimize setup time and material waste.
  • Maintain accurate color and print registration throughout production runs.
  • Inspect finished product for defects such as color variation, misregistration, dirty print, streaking, or other quality issues.
  • Make press adjustments during production to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Perform roll changes, splicing, and material handling.
  • Operate inline equipment when applicable, including die-cutting, cold foil, hot foil, lamination, varnishing/coating, and UV curing systems.
  • Complete required production, quality, material usage, and waste documentation.
  • Troubleshoot printing and mechanical problems and communicate larger maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Clean printing units, anilox rolls, plates, ink systems, and other press components.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and production schedules.
Qualifications:
  • Previous flexographic or narrow-web press experience is preferred, particularly experience with Lombardi presses.
  • Understanding of flexographic printing, color control, registration, web handling, die-cutting, and basic press troubleshooting.
  • Ability to use measuring and quality-control equipment
