Job summary

Inovar Packaging Group is seeking a Flexo Label Press Operator (Narrow Web) to operate and maintain a high‑quality flexographic press, producing premium labels that meet customer specifications and schedules.

You will set up presses, manage registrations, color, and drying settings, and perform in‑process quality checks. The role requires mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and willingness to work overtime as production needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with flexographic press operation preferred.
• Ability to read job tickets, proofs, specs, measurements, and production documentation.
• Detail-oriented and quality-driven; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a narrow-web flexographic press to meet customer specs, schedules and quality standards.
• Establish registration, tension, color, ink viscosity, and drying/curing settings; run jobs with minimal waste.
• Perform in-process quality checks for color, registration, defects, and overall appearance.
• Troubleshoot issues such as print defects, ink buildup, and web breaks; document production activity and material usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety; assist with training teammates and ensure SOPs are followed.

Role overview

Operate and maintain a narrow‑web flexographic press to produce premium labels that meet customer specifications, production schedules, and our quality and safety standards.

Core responsibilities

• Setup: Review job tickets, artwork, proofs, press instructions, and customer specs. Install plates, dies, cylinders, anilox rolls, doctor blades, inks, and all tooling. Load and thread paper, film, or pressure‑sensitive label stock.
• Production: Establish registration, impression, web tension, color, ink viscosity, and drying/curing settings; run jobs to plan while minimizing waste and downtime.
• Quality assurance: Perform in‑process checks for color, registration, copy, barcodes, defects, die‑cut quality, and overall appearance; verify finished goods meet requirements.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct issues such as dirty print, pinholing, plate bounce, registration variation, ink buildup, web breaks, and inconsistent color.
• Documentation: Record production activity, material usage, waste, quality results, and downtime accurately.
• Maintenance & 5S: Conduct routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and basic mechanical adjustments; maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Collaboration & training: Communicate with Production, Quality, Prepress, Ink, Maintenance, and Finishing; assist with training Press Helpers and teammates.
• Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, quality systems, SOPs, and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous flexographic press operation experience strongly preferred
• Experience with a Mark Andy 2200 or comparable narrow‑web press preferred
• Working knowledge of flexo plates, anilox rolls, inks, dies, substrates, web tension, registration, and color control
• Ability to read job tickets, proofs, specs, measurements, and production documentation
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to distinguish colors and spot minor print defects
• Detail‑oriented, quality‑driven, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing to work overtime or flexible hours based on production needs

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling of materials/tooling
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work around moving equipment, inks, solvents, noise, and typical manufacturing conditions
• Wear required personal protective equipment

Schedule

• Friday–Saturday 4:00am–5:30pm; Sunday 4:00am–2:30pm
• Overtime may be required based on business and production needs
