Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a Press Support Associate to join our Production Team. You will assist the Press Operators in setting up and operating printing presses to produce pressure sensitive labels on paper, plastic, foil, and film materials.

Onsite training and career growth opportunities are provided. The role emphasizes reading job orders, loading dies, mixing inks, maintaining quality, and performing routine maintenance under supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow guidance from the Press Operator.
  • Load dies into press and install print cylinder on shaft.
  • Load ink and ensure inks are ready and within specifications.
  • Maintain press area and keep it clean and organized.
  • Assist in daily/weekly/monthly maintenance as directed by supervisor.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Press Support Associate to join our Production Team! This role will assist the Press Operators in setting up and operating the printing press to produce pressure sensitive labels and related products on paper, plastic, foil, and film materials.

Responsibilities
  • Follows guidance and direction from Press Operator.
  • Reads job order and loads dies into press, installs print cylinder on shaft and installs print
  • cylinder in press.
  • Fills ink pans, screens and pumps with prescribed inks.
  • Inserts shaft through core and secures roll on press in feed position.
  • Splices end of roll to stock remaining on press and adjusts tension and feed as directed.
  • Starts press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
  • Engages print cylinders; adjusts printing impression as necessary, places print cylinders lead-to-lead and runs down approval strip.
  • Cuts sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspects for imperfections such as print to print out of register, print to die out of register, missing impression, ink starvation or color adjustments, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Cleans plates, print cylinders and dies as needed.
  • Removes trash as needed.
  • Assists in the performance of daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required.
  • Supervisor must approve all maintenance.
  • Mixes inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing environment, printing or packaging industry experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
