Press Operator – Carson, CA
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour | Shift: Monday - Friday | 1st and 2nd Shift
About the Role: Join our production team and play a key role in bringing high-quality print projects to life! We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to support our press operations and help ensure smooth, efficient production from start to finish.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous press operator experience in a manufacturing or printing environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical press systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Basic computer skills for production tracking and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials as required.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate printing presses by loading ink, rolls, sheets, and other production materials.
- Adjust press settings, including ink levels, alignment, and press speed, to meet production specifications.
- Monitor press operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and consistent output.
- Inspect printed materials for defects, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical and printing problems during production runs.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on printing press equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel.
- Load, unload, stack, sort, and package finished printed products.
- Maintain accurate production records, including materials used, quantities produced, and downtime issues.
- Assist with inventory management of printing supplies and materials.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding job status and production concerns.
- Support training and mentoring of junior press operators as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
