Job summary

Uni-Form Components Corp is seeking a dependable Press Helper to join our manufacturing team. You will assist with the setup, pressing, and forming of steel heads using industrial presses, furnaces, and die sets, while learning the press operation.

This hands-on role offers scope to develop additional manufacturing skills, work around industrial equipment, and contribute to a safety-focused environment. Overtime may be required as production demands vary.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings preferred.
• Ability to read basic job cards, measurements, prints, and drawings.
• Physical: lift and carry up to 50 lbs with-assistance as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime as production needs require.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operators with press setup and preparation.
• Read and follow job cards, prints, and production instructions.
• Help gather, stage, and position dies, tooling, and materials for each job.
• Assist with loading and positioning material for pressing and forming.
• Support furnace operations and material movement as directed.
• Measure materials and verify specifications throughout the process.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes as trained.
• Use grinders, hammers, wrenches, pry bars, and other hand tools.
• Inspect equipment and communicate safety or equipment concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all PPE standards and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties to support Press operations.

Uni-Form Components is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Press Helper to join our manufacturing team. This position works alongside Press Operators to support the setup, pressing, and forming of steel heads using industrial presses, furnaces, and die sets.

This is a hands-on position with an opportunity to learn the Press operation and develop additional manufacturing skills.

What You'll Do

• Assist Press Operators with press setup and preparation.
• Read and follow job cards, prints, and production instructions.
• Help gather, stage, and position the correct dies, tooling, and materials for each job.
• Assist with loading and positioning material for the pressing and forming process.
• Support furnace operations and material movement as directed.
• Measure materials and help verify specifications throughout the process.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes as trained and authorized.
• Use grinders, hammers, wrenches, pry bars, and other hand tools.
• Inspect equipment and communicate any safety or equipment concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE standards.
• Perform other duties as needed to support Press operations.

What We're Looking For

• Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Experience in metal forming, heavy manufacturing, or working around industrial equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand basic job cards, measurements, prints, and drawings.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Strong attention to safety and quality.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced Press Operators.
• Ability to work independently when needed and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to work around industrial presses, furnaces, and high temperatures.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with lifting equipment available for heavier materials.
• Ability to wear required PPE.
• Willingness to work overtime as production needs require.
